Florida National Scenic Trail Symposium
“FNST – Blazing the Next 30 Years”
The US Forest Service, along with the Florida Trail Association and the Florida Outdoor Recreation Coalition is hosting the 2013 Florida National Scenic Trail (FNST) Symposium to highlight its 30th Anniversary and future plans for one of Florida’s most remarkable trails.
The concept of a trail that would stretch from one end of Florida to the other became a reality in 1983 when the US Congress designated the Florida National Scenic Trail (FNST) as one of eleven national trails. During the past 30 years the FNST has grown to over 1,000 designated miles through the dedicated work of countless volunteers and land managing agencies.
More than just reflecting on the past 30 years of dedicated work on that make this FNST dream a reality, this year’s symposium will highlight future plans that will make the FNST an even greater outdoor experience in the next 30 years.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this special event. An active program of speakers will take you into the future of the FNST. So take note:
